Carla Giuffrè

Carla Giuffrè is an Italian-qualified lawyer based in Brussels, with extensive experience in European institutions, focusing on legal and regulatory compliance for EU-funded research projects. She has worked with agencies such as HaDEA and ERCEA, where she specialized in ethical compliance and legal oversight within Horizon Europe and EU4Health projects. Currently, Carla is working as an external consultant at the European Parliament, dealing with procurement, contracts, and grants. Since 2022, she has also been a legal researcher and active member of the Psychedelic Society Belgium (PSBE), contributing to the development of a legal framework for the safe and therapeutic use of psychedelics in Belgium and across Europe. As an active member of the Ethical Committee at SIMePSI  (Italian Society of Psychedelic Medicine), Carla is involved in initiatives promoting ethical standards and policy reforms to improve access to innovative treatments for mental health, such as Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies (PATS).
